ACF Repeater Fields Function

I’m importing a lot of ACF fields using this content and have run into an issue. I am importing a repeater field separated by a “/” symbol and am referencing a function to clean that data before returning it. For example, the function returns “Grape” instead of G, “Apple” instead of A. The function works fine for returning non-repeater values but fails when I try to use it with repeater columns. How should I alter my function so that it works?
