That is a great question. There is not a way to filter the URL, it can only be set on the settings page. I can see how that could come in handy though. I have a development note on adding a filter for this. At the moment, I do not know when the next release will be.

Adding this filter will let you conditionally change the URL and it will be independent of ACF. So, if you can write a conditional that pulls a URL from ACF, it will work.

Can you give an example of how you would use the filter? That way, I can make sure it will work for your use case.

    Thanks for the response!

The website in questions is for a large event that happens once a year and the URL to purchase tickets changes once a year as well.

I created an “ACF Settings” page for this website so that the promoting company can easily change logos, dates, times, etc. across the site from one centralized location without involving me.

I already have this “Purchase Tickets” URL working properly across the site for different CTA buttons; however, the promoting company also has to update the “Simple Side Tab URL” as well (not a huge deal honestly, but its one more step that CAN be forgotten, which would potentially have a significant impact on them).

My skill set is not at a point where I can write a conditional.

Let me know if you need any more specifics from me.

    Hey Jordan,

That helps a lot. Thank you for explaining your specific situation.

Since it changes once a year, the best way to handle this is to use the plugin settings page to change the URL. It works well without getting fancy with filters and conditions.

The “ACF Settings” page is a nice touch. Those are very helpful for end users and empowers them to make changes on their own. May I suggest that you add a section to that page with a task description for editing the URL. You can also add a link directly to the Simple Side Tab settings page as a reminder to them. ??

    Hope that helps.
