Acrchive Widget and Older post link not working

  • I have searched the pages for hints on how to solve this and nothing seem obvious. I have over 80 posts on my blog and the sidebar acrchive widget (by month) only shows the newer posts, the same as the opening (current) page. It does not seem to matter which month I click, no older posts show up.

    I have a similar issue at the bottom of the page on the “Older posts” link. This just indicates that the page was not available.

    I am using the Twenty Ten 1.2 theme by the WordPress team with no special modifications.

    I am on the road cycling across north america and don’t have regular access to a computer. I do receive emails at [email removed] on my blackberry.

  • Have you modified the theme at all? Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thanks for the reply. I have only modified the top image in the theme and nothing else. I have the following plugins installed:
    NxtGen Gallery
    Yoast WordPress SEO
    Akismet
    Share and Follow

    All are presently active. When I left home for the cycle trip, I never had enough posts to test the archive feature, so I am unsure if any of the plugins may be guilty? Not having regular access to a computer will make deactivating and reactivating a little tricky.

    I’ve just re-tested the theme on my development server and I can display archives going back to March 2008 via the Archive widget using it’s default settings. And I’m not seeing any issues with the previous posts link either. So whatever it is, it is specific to your site.
