Hello! Does your plugin support an action queue?

I would like to avoid having an action performed for many people in a very short space of time, such as sending emails or triggering webhooks.

Can you help me with this? Thanks.

    Hi @danielspalma,

Great question. Scheduled and delayed actions in Pro are handed off to Action Scheduler, and in the settings you can use the Background Actions setting to move some actions to a queue.

Additional control over queueing is coming but not available yet. My tentative guess is that it’s about 2 months away; work has started but it’s still in the early stages.

Wow, great to know @uncannyautomator !

    I’ll go Pro, so.

Does the pro have the option to send emails in a period of time only? I mean… not beetween dates but, for example, from 8am to 18pm.

If not, can you open a internal request for this feature?

    Thanks!

    Hi @danielspalma ,

Right now Automator supports conditions where you could say “only send an email for this recipe if it’s between 8 AM and 6 PM”, but if it’s outside those hours, it would drop the email. In other words, it can’t queue it and wait until 8 AM to send the queued email, with our time conditions, it the condition is met, it just won’t run.

The functionality I mentioned us adding in about 2 months will be closer to a scenario where we would run X things, wait Y seconds, then run X more.
