I received an email stating, “We are contacting you to inform you that in the next 30 days, your current calendar will be discontinued and may have some issues. One action requires your attention: please respond to this email to schedule the update or contact us through our website: https://www.time.ly.”

Does anyone know what this is regarding? The plugin is up to date and I’m just looking for a basic calendar.

  • I received the same and it looks phoney to me also. I emailed Timely support (through that email) and received a rather confusing email about an update including something called Journey. Also running 3.0.0 version on three websites, but only received an email regarding just one. Following this thread for responses, including perhaps one from Timely (official).

For information about that mail its strange they request to contact them and first after that send a new mail the new information that you really need.

There is a brand new version redone for latest PHP version. You need to uninstall the old calendar plugin and then install the new. If you want you can export/import your activities. The Export dont work if you use Elementor so you need to turn that off.

Unfortunatly the new version is not following standard WordPress localisation so it need alots of work in other languages.

After trying the new version (in Sweden) I decided to stay with the old version as long as I can.

Piani, this was helpful, thank you. I’m not running the latest PHP version right now, so I’ll keep using the current plugin until I start seeing any issues. Does the new version have the same name, or is it listed as something else?

Thank you again for your help, I appreciate it.

Following. I received 2 emails. I think they’re moving to a SAAS business model?

I’ll sit tight, but am going to work with my customer to explore options.

    Hi @ssacks

    Thanks for reaching out!

To clarify, on July 7, 2021, we announce the launch of version 3.0.0. of our plugin, where we updated the PHP to 7.2, and created a new event management platform for new plugin installs. Users who had the “old platform” plugin installed before that date stayed in the “old platform”, and the only thing that changed was the PHP version. Users who downloaded and installed the plugin after that date got the plugin with the “new platform”. The new platform is more modern and user friendly, and has much more features than the old platform.

So, currently, we have two versions of our plugin running at the same time. Slowly and as per user request, we are migrating calendars and events from the old platform to the new platform, to ensure data is migrated correctly. Whoever wants to stay in the old platform can stay, however, we are not planning to support it for long since we are focusing our efforts on the new platform.

If you experience any issue with the “old platform”, we recommend you to move your events to the “new platform”. We would be more than happy to help you with that. Just contact us through this FORM, and we will guide you through the process.

    Best,
    Timely Customer Success Team
