• I run a contest once a year for charity and I have an email list setup with past participants. Some (a lot) of them from last year have gone inactive. I want to send all of them an email announcing this year’s contest. So I need to reactivate about 70+ emails. My total number of inactives is 220+, so I don’t want to reactivate all of them. Is there a way to reactivate a select group of emails?

  • Hello @goingfor2,

Good to hear about your charity contest. As you’ve seen, MailPoet automatically stops sending emails to your inactive subscribers by default after around 6 months of inactivity.

We strongly do not recommend sending to Inactive subscribers with our own sending service, since it’s very likely it will cause a high number of hard bounces.

However, since you plan to “reactivate” these inactive subscribers, we suggest first creating a new list (i.e. “inactive contestants”) and transferring these users to that list. This is to better keep track of 70+ users who are inactive.

Then, to switch all “Inactive” subscribers back to “Subscribed” follow these steps:
    1. Go to MailPoet Settings >> Advanced
    2. Set the Stop sending to inactive subscribers to “Never”

The entire process should only take a few minutes. To learn more about the Inactive Subscribers feature go here: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/264-inactive-subscribers
