Hi, I have installed this plugin both via the add new & upload methods. When I try to activate it it fails with the following message ..
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpstg_log() in …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-staging/includes/install.php on line 152

    Please advise.

    Thank you
    Ivan

    Hi Ivan

I had the same problem as you. It took me hours to figure out where the problem was. My problem was caused by a Plugin. I use WPTouch pro and have a license for an older version than they actually have on the market. So what happened is that they deactivated my license for the older version. As soon as they reactivated it, the error message for WP Staging disappeared. So check your plugins – my advice :-).

    Cheers

Thanks Rita, will try that .. I see the plugin says its not tested with 4.7.3 , but on the plugin information/Description page it says compatible up to 4.7.3.
Are you aware of any risks in using it with 4.7.3?

    regards
    Ivan

I am using it with 4.7.3. I didn’t have any problems with it…

great, thanks again. Seems the best is to disable all plugins before running it.
Also had some issues with folder permissions and some files not copied, even though others were copied in the same folder. Resolved by manually copying the missing files and setting folders to full read/write … obviously not ideal from a security point of view.

Hmmm, just tried it on a second site on the same server with ALL the plugins disabled and it still failed with the same error … really odd as it worked eventually on my first site.
