Yes you do have to translate it if no one else has yet done it. In this case someone has done some already. Developers don’t generally translate the plugins – it’s done as a ‘WordPress Community’ thing. WordPress has a portal for Users to translate plugins, but it is a bit cloncky – translators have to have their work approved and only when you get 95% done will it actually show up. Currently only 50% of the Dutch translation is done so we have to use a manual work around to provide the translation to users. If you want to add translation suggestions on the page link I sent you then feel free as it will grow the amount translated – just focus on any key terms you need users to see and add it to your plugin using the same method you just tried – and we can copy the file back into the live plugin for you periodically so you don’t loose the translations when we issue updates.
I’ll get the current file inlcuded in our next update and it should be automatic from there.
