Activating OWN image on the 'Posts' page

  • How can I override the default header images in the 2012 theme? I know I can turn them off – but this turns ALL header images off.

    I have added a series of images to use on each different page, but when (in customize site) I choose the page which I have called ‘blog’ to feature the posts, the theme automatically removes my own image and replaces it with one of the default ones.

    The other way around this, might be if I could activate ‘comments’ on just the blog page.
    At present, the theme is set for no comments (as I do not want hem on ALL pages), but I do require it on the blog.
