    I have no SMTP plugins installed, yet I’m not being able to receive the activation email when I test the sign up page. I’ve even disabled all my other plugins except for gantry5 (because the theme needs it), and tested the registration again, it still couldn’t work. My mod_security is disabled too. In shortly php sendmail is not working.

    Install the “Check & Log Email” plugin to verify if activation email is sent from Ultimate Member or not.

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/check-email/

    Activation email setup includes these steps:

    First:
    UM -> Settings -> Email -> Account Activation Email (edit template and check the box on the screen that appears)-> save change(edit template) -> save change(Settings -> Email)

    Second:
    UM -> Settings -> Appearance -> Registration form -> Registration Default Role

    Third:
    UM -> User Roles ->
    Select the user role above defined as “Registration Default Role” -> Edit -> Registration Options -> Registration Status -> Require email activation

    I was having the same trouble as missveronica. The steps above resolved the problems for me.

    From the steps above, the only one I haven’t tried was “UM -> Settings -> Appearance -> Registration form -> Registration Default Role”, but even now after I tried it, it’s still not working.

    What is the result from using the “Check & Log Email” plugin?
    Ultimate Member sending any activation email or not?

    If UM is sending your Activation emails but not received by the user,
    next step is to go for another email delivery solution using SMTP.

    There are many SMTP solutions on the market:

    Your hosting provider may have SMTP options available too.

    What you mean by result? I can’t find any logs, I just try to send a message, it says it sent but it never arrives.

    @amackley was successful following these instructions.

    @spikespiegel
    If the Activation email message was sent according to the “Check & Log Email” plugin and not received by the user there is anywhere between your UM installation and the user email inbox where the email is stopped for any reason and you have to implement email delivery solution using SMTP which is much safer.

    Hi @spikespiegel

    You can try using an SMTP plugin to fix the relay issue.
