Activation Problem with WooCommerce 1.4.2

    Can anyone please point me in the right direction to troubleshoot problems with WooCommerce activation? Once I came acros this I started testing this on a fresh install of WordPress with no other Plugins or Themes installed. Here are the step taken an errors received.

    1. Fresh Install of WordPress 3.3.1
    2. Install WooCommerce 1.4.2
    3. Activate WooComerce plugin
    Right after activation a message pops up with error:

    “The plugin generated 1017 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.”

    4. Navigate to Pages
    (/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page)
    There are no pages generated by WooCommerce

    5. Navigate to WooCommerce Options panel
    (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=woocommerce)
    6. Make any adjustments to settings and click Save changes button.
    WordPress reports that “Your settings have been saved.”
    but shows the following error above the TABS:

    “Warning: fopen(/woocommerce_uploads/.htaccess) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/EXAMPLE/domains/EXAMPLE.COM/public_html/test/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/admin/woocommerce-admin-functions.php on line 33”

    PHP Version 5.2.17
    MySQL Version 5.1.61
    WordPress 3.3.1
    WooCommerce 1.4.2
    No other Plugins or Themes installed.

    Thank you Mike, changing the line #33 in admin/woocommerce-admin-functions.php
    and lines #28 and #37 in admin/woocommerce-admin-install.php got rid of the errors in step 6.

    Will this bug patch be included in the next release of WooCommerce?

    The activation problems described in steps 4 and 6 have been fixed in the WooCommerce 1.4.4 release.
