active heading in TOC inaccurate

    I have TOC in a sticky sidebar so users can see it as they scroll through a post.

    I have styled the current (active) link in TOC to be highlighted so users can see where they are in the post, however, TOC gets out of sync further down the post until it is one or two sections ahead of the current screen view.

    I like the visual effect, but I may have to remove or restyle TOC as it is a bit confusing for readers right now.

    Any ideas?
