• We’re a little confused! We’ve been using Activity Log for a while now. A few days ago we had an external developer on our platform, but none of the developer’s work showed up in Activity Log. Even not a not registrated user – and he had admin access. That doesn’t leave a good feeling. Is that because he is using VPN and a browser in private mode? He was in for sure, the work was done. But no record! Thanks for a feedback!

    Hi @ammerseebavaria,

No, that shouldn’t happen. The plugin’s ability is to capture the most events in the wp-admin. It can be assumed that if the developer has access to a database he can delete the logs associated with it.

    Thanks

Hello Ariel! Many thanks for your quick reply. We feared something similar, but we can’t understand how the freelancer got on the database. He has namely no FTP access. So I summarize again: an admin cannot be found in the log before, has subsequently deleted the logs from the database. There is no other possibility. Is that right?

There may be other problems that I am not aware of because I am not familiar with the site. So I wouldn’t want to mislead.

many thanks for your response! And please excuse the delay. We have now logged in like an external user with admin rights and tried various things. We found that your logging mainly saves measures that are triggered by a save process. For example, when we went to data for the customer to have a summary of the downloads sent to us by e-mail, we were able to use the admin function to download the customer data without your log seeing it. So we have a clear answer.

And one more thing: our security software registered all of these processes in our test. So a clear fact that not all processes on our platform are registered by your software. We remain your enthusiastic customer!

    Hey,

We keep most of the activities in WP admin as we mentioned on the plugin page what things we keep in the log. Can you share with us what security tool you used to see logs in the admin that we don’t keep?

    Thanks
