• According to the author, you need a paid add on to actually do an endless scrolling on posts. Otherwise, you need to add a shortcode to EACH and EVERY one of your posts. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of having endless scrolling plugin.

We eventually used Jetpack even though we really do not like sharing data with them and using the whole plugin for something so simple. I wish someone had developed a simple endless scrolling plugin.

If you give this developer feedback which he does not like, he will harass you and follow you everywhere until you change the review. I strongly recommend you look at this plugin with caution. Could be malicious!

    Thanks

Ajax Load More is a simple solution for endless scrolling. I believe I didn’t understand your initial question when I responded to your support question.

This is Ajax Load More in its most basic form.

Using a simple shortcode. [ajax_load_more] you can display endless scrolling anywhere on your site.

Thanks for the response. Are you suggesting that I place a short code on each and every one of my post? I have thousands of post ??

I don’t use this plugin but you don’t need to modify thousands of posts. The do_shortcode('[ajax_load_more]') can be added to posts with just a the_content() filter and should accomplish that for you.

Should but again, I don’t use this plugin. ??

    Thanks @jdembowski,
It can also be added to the single.php template so it’s included in every post – as described in the documentation.

@checklist I ask you to consider reviewing the plugin for what is actually does and not what is behind a paywall.

Please don’t ping the mod account. That’s not a moderator and isn’t how you get a moderators attention.

I feel this review should be considered for removal because the user is reviewing functionality the FREE plugin does not provide and they are upset about the paid upgrade.

    And you’d be incorrect too.

Your plugin page has this link.

    https://connekthq.com/plugins/ajax-load-more/add-ons/custom-repeaters/

You upsell on that plugin page. That makes all reviews regarding that experience valid and frankly I personally invite all of your customers who got your paid upgrade to leave a review here about that.

    Hi @dcooney,

Please don’t get aggressive. Give me a little time to try out the solution proposed. I am not intent on trashing any software. I know how difficult it is to develop plugins. Unfortunately, there are many bait and switch ones on WP that are useless unless you pay for them. If I see yours is not one and can be used for what is advertised, I am happy to change my rating.

    @jdembowski – Understood. Thank you.

and frankly I personally invite all of your customers who got your paid upgrade to leave a review here about that.

Not sure what you are implying here and that’s not even what this user is reviewing. But if you feel like there is something wrong with my plugin page please let me know.

@checklist – not trying to get aggressive, you won’t be able to infinite scroll single posts without the add-on so there is nothing you can test.

This is what my plugin advertises it can do.

This plugin advertises the functionality you want.

I’m not implying anything. I’m coming right out and saying that anyone who made a purchase on your site for a paid upgrade should leave a review here as part of that experience.

All users are encouraged to leave reviews here and that should also include any experience after this site that derived from an author’s plugin page.

There’s nothing wrong with your plugin page. You are upselling (that should be a word) and that is allowed.

@jdembowski ok great. I actually didn’t realize users could review add-ons on .org – I’ve told users to not ask for support or review add-ons on these forums.

That’s only half right. Customers cannot be supported in these forums. When that’s found the author is asked to do what you have done which is direct them to your own site.

But that does not apply to reviews. As you are now aware, someone who started on your plugin page and became one of your customers (and that’s a good thing, everyone should make a living and that isn’t discouraged) can leave a review here about how that went.

Hi @checklist, Did you have a chance to review the complete plugin or at least try it out as you mentioned you would?

Ajax Load More was built for infinite scrolling in most the traditional sense, which is long lists of posts and archives – the functionality you are looking for was added for commercial purposes and the plugin does not promise otherwise. There is no bait and switch with my plugin which you will see when you use it.

    thanks.

I tried the suggestion and it does not work. I (and seems like others on this site as well) do not agree with your statement. It is false advertising and I think people should know about it. Endless scrolling means one thing. In this day and age of Fake News we should hold people and companies accountable.

Harassing your users will not help you. No wonder you have so little negative reviews. You simply go harassing honest developers if they give you a negative review and then bash them. This is not professional!!!

    (@dcooney)

Sorry you took it the wrong way… I was simply following up to see if you tried the solution.

    Endless scrolling means one thing.

In your opinion what can I do to the plugins messaging to make it clear that Ajax Load More doesn’t support single posts out of the box?

This is honestly the first time it has ever come up, so I’d like to know what you think.

I hope your day gets better.
