• I’ve just installed this plugin and overall, it’s GREAT. It’s super-easy to use, the linked number works great, and the hover works great. But the actual footnotes aren’t showing up anywhere and I’m not sure why.

I’m guessing some kind of conflict with my theme (since they work fine on other people’s sites), but as I didn’t program the theme OR the plugin, I’m not sure what I should be looking for.

That is odd. My guess would be your theme or another plugin is causing the footnotes to not be added to the end of the content via the_content filter. Do you have any other plugins activated that add anything below the posts on your site, such as sharing? Do you have a link to a page I can check out at all?

One other question, are the footnotes not showing on your home page or single post pages or both? Right now I have the footnotes only showing at the bottom of the post on single pages. The hovers will still show, but the footnotes won’t show at the bottom of the page unless you’re in a single post page. This is due to the fact that the footnotes were showing at the bottom of the home page when posts were using the <!-- more --> tag. I’m working on tweaking some of the logic for counting the footnotes (feetnotes?) on the home page right now.

    Hi Jason,

The plugin works unless I include social sharing in my posts. This might not help, but I’ll include the shortcode for the social sharing:

    [x_share title=”Share this Post” facebook=”true” twitter=”true” google_plus=”true” linkedin=”true” pinterest=”true” reddit=”true” email=”true”]

I contacted my theme provider and they said this was a plugin issue. How can I deal with this?

    Thanks.
