I’ve inserted google matched content ad unit code snippets into a code block (Gutenberg) on my art blog without issue for a few months. I installed Site Kit (it’s very cool), and now when I try to insert code snippet in a block, the ad won’t render. The block is visible in its original code on the blog post, and it;s been like that for a few days. In previous posts, the same code snippets are still actively showing/working with no trouble. I tried deactivating site kit, but the trouble persists. Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks! B.

  • @bdelpescomaccom thanks for your topic!

Site Kit’s Adsense implementation supports Auto ads for your site. There may be particularities on how Adsense renders ads in your case with Ad units additionally. To get further support on how your ads are rendering, we suggest reaching out to the experts at the Adsense Help Center.

Hi @reneesoffice – thanks for your reply. If it was a script directive from Site Kit, wouldn’t it affect all the other manually inserted ads in my posts, going back in time for years? They are all rendering fine. I’ll visit the adsense help center.

@bdelpescomaccom Site Kit places the Adsense code on your site and Adsense renders ads accordingly. You still manage your ads via your Adsense account. This document might be a good start to understand the interaction with Ad units. With that said, our support is limited to Site Kit, so we don’t have an exact answer for these scenarios. The Adsense Help Center is the best resource.

Ok, I went, I read, and didn’t find anything helpful.A questionnaire waterfall about disappearing ads seemed promising, but sent me to an area about installing site kit. Their help center points to you. I’ll keep looking. Thank you.

@bdelpescomaccom no problem. Looks like we replied at the same time. Please see the above. You’ll want to inquire about Auto ads/ Ad unit interaction. Site Kit just places the initial Ads code, but Adsense renders the ads (that platform controls the logic of which ads go where). Feel free to use their community forums as well.

Should someone else have this problem, the issue was with Gutenberg block choices: the Google Adsense Matched Content code snippet has to be inserted into a Custom HTML block. I inadvertently inserted the snippet into a Code block, and the ad will not render in that flavor of block. Site Kit is working perfectly, and my ads are showing now. Thanks for your help.

@bdelpescomaccom thanks for the update and for sharing the solution!
