• Hi

I have tried installing NextGen Pro on 4 different sites and not a single one works.

In each case I can upload and activate the plugin. However, ther is no Gallery link in the sidebar as I would expect and there is no Add Gallery icon on the text editing tool bar when adding a new post or new page.

I also notice that the Hyperlink buttons are grayed out and I see that has been an issue with lots of people. The fact that there is no Gallery in the side bar or icon on the new posts/pages seems to be something new as I have gone through loads of pages in this forum and can’t find anything similar.

    Can anyone help?

Oh, the themse I have tried it with are Genesis (studiopress.com) and Thesis (diythemes.com).

    Cheers

@malycom: We’ve never seen a case where, once activated, there’s not Gallery item on the menu bar. Not to ask the obvious, but can you confirm that you’re actually seeing it as “activated” in the plugin list?

Next thing I’d ask is just to try deactivating other plugins momentarily, just long to ensure there’s not a conflict.

Next: can you tell us if this is a multisite install? Or tell us if there’s anything unconventional about where it’s hosted or how you have it set up?

I have the same problem. Help!

garbunk – It tuens out you need the free version installed first as the Pro version is an addon rather than stand alone plugin.

Mine works now thanks to the support team getting back to me.

Oh, and looking at your image, you are in the wrong view. You need to have the Visual tab selected and not the Text tab.

    Hope this helps.

Is your installation Multisite? I had this issue on a multisite installation and a new beta install fixed that issue.

    OHHH!

The Visual tab. The documentation didn’t say ANYTHING about that! It needs to be updated.

I’m sure to whoever wrote the docs this was obvious. But to everyone else, it’s not.
