    Hi

We’re just about to set up a new WordPress based intranet site using an AD integration plugin. So, questions if I may…

    1.
I know ‘Employee Directory’ isn’t AD integrated, but is it WordPress user account integrated?
    2.
Can logged in users edit their own profile info?
    3.
If so, can you restrict which fields they can edit?
    4.
Also if so, does it integrate custom user fields (e.g. created by Cimy Extra User Fields) and can you search on them?

    Many thanks,
    Paulio

You will get a faster response if you open a support ticket on our site. We don’t check these forums regularly.
    1. I know ‘Employee Directory’ isn’t AD integrated, but is it WordPress user account integrated?
    — The community edition uses built-in WordPress user roles. Pro edition has custom roles. If your WordPress installation is integrated with AD, this plugin should be considered integrated

    2. Can logged in users edit their own profile info?
    — Pro Edition gives that ability

    3. If so, can you restrict which fields they can edit?
    — Currently, we do not support attribute based permissions. In the future we will but this will be part of intranetpress.com which will launched soon

    4. Also if so, does it integrate custom user fields (e.g. created by Cimy Extra User Fields) and can you search on them?

    — All of our plugins including ED has been built and maintained using WP App Studio WordPress Development platform. The plugin design can be modified in way you need to and in ways not offered anywhere else

I have new update for you. We have recently released a new plugin which automatically imports and updates employee directory data from a LDAP service (tested using Microsoft Active Directory, Apache Directory and Open LDAP) including employee photos, employee to manager relationships and any custom fields you may have.

You can also schedule updates/imports in certain intervals using WordPress cron and many other features.

Here is the link to the plugin’s page: https://emdplugins.com/plugins/emd-active-directory-ldap-extension/

Here is the YouTube video demonstrating the capabilities: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onWfeZHLGzo
