    Hello,

I am using Sitekit to place ads on my site.

I think I am able to control the ad load only for non-amp through the Adsense dashboard. Because of this, there are many ad blocks appearing. I want to keep it to a minimum.

I have set the ad load to Minimum (least) in the AdSense dashboard. But I think that setting is not applicable to the AMP version of the site.

Am I right about my observation? Can you please help me out with this.

@kamalh Thanks for reporting. As Site Kit only places the AdSense code on your website that is more a question for the AdSense Help Center, I will however keep this support topic open while I check for you.

@kamalh You are correct, I have confirmed that the ad options you see in the new interface for Auto ads only apply to non AMP sites. Having said that I have raised this issue with the ads team, so hopefully I can update you shortly on this.

If you want more control of ads within AMP then I would suggest using an ads plugin, many of which works great in AMP. You can find some of these plugins listed at this help center article.

@jamesosborne Thanks for confirming. I learned it because in the preview window of the dashboard there was these blocks that were not like the others, which you can delete from the placement.

I am going to try Ad Inserter. I hope the AMP plugin doesn’t strip the code to comply with AMP standards. Cos I have already tried once and the ad code was stripped off. Thereby no ads were displayed.

@jamesosborne I just tried it. The AMP plugin strips away the body, height that is mentioned in the ad code. So it is not displayed.

I don’t think those ads plugins work well together with the official AMP plugin. And I have standard mode enabled.

@kamalh If you are using an ads plugin you need to ensure you have AMP ads
for your AMP URLs and regular ads for your non AMP urls. Both Ad Inserter and Advanced Ads have such features, but you can check with each respective plugin how to implement. It’s normal that regular ads will not work in AMP, they are JavaScript based.

From within the AdSense dashboard it lists the AMP ad unit code alongside the standard ad unit code.

    Hello @kamalh and @jamesosborne,

I’m the author of Ad Inserter plugin.

Ad Inserter supports insertion of ads on AMP pages:

Feel free to open a thread in the support forum if you need help.
