I am using advanced ads with the peepso plugin and Gecko theme.

I am trying to display adsense ads on the activity feed, but nothing is displayed.

However if I switch on debug mode for the ad, then the debug information is displayed and the text states “The ad is displayed on the page”.

Any ideas why the ads aren’t showing?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi supamoov,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The ad debug mode checks if the ad code is getting injected or if there are any condition settings that prevent Advanced Ads from embedding the ad code.

I guess that the code is already integrated. For testing, I recommend starting with a normal-sized ad like a rectangle instead of responsive formats.

Do you notice any error messages? Is your activity stream accessible for the AdSense bot or is this protected behind a login?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim
I’ve tried the “dummy ad” and that displays correctly embedded in the peepso activity feed.
I changed the adsense ad to fixed size, but it still didn’t display.

If I turn on auto ads, then an ad appears in the header and if I ad the advanced ads widget, that too displays an advertisement.

I’ve not seen any errors, but to be honest, I don’t know where to look.

The site password protected but the activity feed (and the dummy ad i’ve included in it) is visible to logged out users.

    Thanks

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for this information.

Currently, I can see a manual injected ad in the ad widget above the stream. The ad codes are correctly integrated and already receiving data from AdSense. However, no ads show up in this unit.

In the stream, I cannot see any AdSense codes. Can you please embed a fixed-sized AdSense unit there again and notify me here to check it for any errors?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim

I have done that. I now get 2 advertisements shown in the widget, but still none from the integration.

I think however that you won’t be able to help. I contacted peepso support and they have replied…

Hello Andrew, Sorry for the delayed response. The only way to place the ad in PeepSo activity stream is by using the PeepSo Stream Ad option when creating a new Ad (as shown on the image attached). To use Google Adsense, it would probably require the additional code modification (example found here: https://www.peepso.com/documentation/filter-advanced-ads-stream-ad-html/) in order to allow specific tags required by Adsense code (like <iframe> or <script>). I hope this helps.

It appears that their integration will not support Adsense ads. Obviously, if you can figure a way around it, that would be great.

I can provide wordpress admin and ftp access details if required, but obviously don’t want to provide those in a public forum.

    Hi Joachim

although I added a fixed size ad, it is showing as responsive – I don’t know why that should be.

I looked at the ad parameters and set type to “normal” and reserved 250×250 space for it. It is now showing in the widget at that size, but still not in the peepso feed. I thought it would have taken the ad parameters from adsense, but for some reason it didn’t.

I copied the adsense code and put it into a text advertisement. I used the peepso stream placement for it and it works fine, so I’ve marked this as resolved.

It’s not the integration I was hoping for but its an adequate work-around.

    Thanks
    Andy
