    Hello,

In the past few days or so, my ads started obstructing the view of my website pages. The ads are taking up the entire top of each website page and causing a blank screen on the rest of the page. This has never happened before. After speaking with Bluehost support, we determined that the issue has to do with the Site Kit by Google plugin. The plugin appears to be glitching, so will removing the placement of ads from the top of my website through Adsense fix this problem, or do I need to remove Site Kit and reach out to their support team again? Or what do you suggest I do?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Nicolette,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Yes, the ads showing are Auto Ads placed through your AdSense connection either by SiteKit or in Advanced Ads. These are only customizable to a certain grade in your AdSense account. You can find a brief description of the available options at the beginning of this article.

If you want more control over the ads displaying on your side, I recommend managing AdSense ads also manually using the Advanced Ads plugin. This ensures only the wanted ad formats are appearing exactly where you placed them.

It’s also possible to use both, Auto Ads and manually placed ad units together. For example, keeping the sticky ad positions from Auto Ads and injecting the content ads via Advanced Ads as you like.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi Henning,

Thank you for your reply and assistance!

I went into my Google Adsense account and disabled the ads from appearing at the top of my website, but they still show up there, despite waiting the allotted hour or so for changes to appear that Google suggested. They also still appear this way on every single blog post post as well. Do I have to completely turn off Auto Ads at this point?

I already have the Advanced Ads plugin installed, but how do I use this plugin to place ads where I want them to go on my website? I also believe that the Site Kit by Google plugin is causing these issues, so what plugin can I use instead of this one to show ads on my website? When I disable Site Kit, then no ads show up on my website.

    Thank you!

    Hi Nicolette,

To gain more control about your ads, I suggest disconnecting the AdSense integration in your SiteKit plugin and using the option Advanced Ads provides for this propose. You’ll find the option in Advanced Ads > Settings > AdSense.

Do I have to completely turn off Auto Ads at this point?

In my experience, disabling the Auto Ads formats like content ads and keeping the sticky ones should take effect. Sometimes the time to wait here variate from the hour google suggests, clearing possible caching instances in place might also be beneficial.

Basically, the principle of embedding ads with Advanced Ads is quite easy to learn:

Once you have set up your?Placements?efficiently, Advanced Ads gives you powerful functions to deliver ads very flexible in your website’s framework. You can, of course, also embed ad units individually with a shortcode anywhere on your site.

For information on the first steps with Advanced Ads have a look at our manual “Creating and displaying your first ad” here. There’s a video included.

    There is also?a step-by-step guide?for AdSense users.

    Best regards,
    Henning
