• Hello! ??

I really hope someone here can give me some advice.

I’m currently running an ad-free blog on which I post photos.

I’d like to keep my blog ad-free on the surface, but would like to show ads only when my visitors click a thumbnail to view the image in full size. They will then be taken to a new page that shows ads AND the full size image on the same page.

Now, is it possible to create something like this using WordPress? If so, how?

Hoping for some great advice! ??

  • You could add an image.php template file to your site/theme. What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

Hello esmi and thank you for replying.

My theme is called ‘Jarida’ and I’ve downloaded it from Themeforest.

I’m a newbie at WordPress so could you please explain to me what the “image.php” does and how/where I should apply it to my theme?

Here’s an example of what I’d like to do (from another site):

    https://www.imagebam.com/image/8481dc256852547

When the link/thumbnail is clicked, it will show a page with banner ads and the full size image.

Hope you can assist me further! ??

    Best,

I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek theme-specific support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.

However, generally speaking, a theme’s image.php file is used automatically whenever (a) an image is inserted with a link to its attachment page and (b) that image thumbnail is clicked by a visitor. Both the Twenty Twelve and Twenty Eleven themes have examples of image.php template files.

Thank you for giving me a better understanding of the image.php file, esmi. I’ll seek support from the developer of Jarida! ??
