Add a meta tag to your sites home page

  • Please can you help me? I am trying to improve my rating on google searches and want to:
    1. Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site’s home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.
    <meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”my-google-provided-code” />
    (italics replaced to protect my code)
    Can you either direct me to finding the right page /file in WordPress menu to add the code directly or is there a place in the theme that this can be put?
