Feature Request : Add a remove donation option

I’m trying to add a remove donation option.
So when the remove button is clicked or the donation amount is 0 the donation will disappear from the products list in the checkout.
I have located the function wdgk_add_cart_item_data wich i believe is the one that adds the donation product to the cart.
So im not completely sure what would be the best practice to achieve this, any guidelines would be appreciated
