• Hello,

I learned that to have access to the free CloudFire CDN, my website has to run with a “www” domain. If I change it, in one click from my hosting, what can be happen to my SEO? Do I have to be careful to something?

Google says that I don’t have to notify on Google Search Consol.

    Thanks!!

Do I may have to put a 301 redirect for URL without “www”?

@rbnz-1 Whether a site uses www/non-www is not controlled in the Yoast SEO plugin. This is controlled in WordPress by the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) values which are located in Settings>General. You would need to make sure that both of these are set to use WWW.

If you are not seeing the site automatically use WWW in the URL after confirming these settings we would recommend checking with your host for more information on how to force all requests to the site to use WWW automatically, as this can sometimes vary depending on the server configuration and hosting provider.

thanks for your response. I know that I have to do it with my hosting service, I was just wondering if the SEO can be affected.

    Thanks!

@rbnz-1 Yes this can affect your ranking when you make a change in www/non-www. We have some additional information related to this here: https://yoast.com/video/ask-yoast-redirecting-domain/
