Add Amount Paid to invoice

Is there a way to add “Amount Paid” to the Invoice so when the customer pulls a copy or has it emailed to them, it will show the amount thay have paid and their balance due (if any)?
So If they bought something and it was $50, it will show $50 paid and $0 balance or $25 paid and $25 due?
