• When creating a new post and selecting “Add an Image”, the upload can be made from my computer, but when it comes to the stage of selecting “Show” (allowing me to add details and include image in post) nothing happens except each time I press it the main page below shifts down. When checking through the media library for past images these will also no longer “Show”. This is specific to a blog that I have just updated to 3.1! I have many other blogs that have not been updated and I have checked all of them and “Show” is working just fine and so this is a 3.1 issue. Anyway got an idea what the problem is here? Thanks, Ryan.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I have the same problem! I can’t add an image, although I can’t even upload it. When I’m in a post, the image button doesn’t respond. When I go to full screen mode and I click the add image button, it freezes up my browser. Doesn’t matter if I use Firefox, Explorer, Safari, Mac or PC. Tried the plugin thing, doesn’t make a difference.

Adding to this, I can’t add tags to posts anymore either! Same issue, I can click on it, but WP doesn’t respond.

    Help is highly appreciated!!!

For me disabling the Ajax Pagination (Twitter Style) plugin did the trick.

    I had the following problems:
    1) visual editor broken
    2) couldn’t insert media into posts
    3) couldn’t add tags to posts.

Disabling the WP-Stats-Dashboard plug-in fixed all of the problems.
As of V2.5.5.2, the plugin is still broken in WP 3.1.

I have the very same problem. Actually it works with the standard theme. So the problem might be within custom themes – since I don’t use any plugins…

Would be really amazing if someone would help.

changing the permissions to 777 (recursive) of the ‘upload’ folder in ‘wp-content’ via ftp, worked for me
