Add author information to the usermeta table

  • I have discovered the usermeta table as a way of storing extra information about a user. I know this was added fairly recently but i want a GUI to be able to edit the information that goes into it, so users can edit there own profile.

    I have only found solutions which create their own table instead of using the wordpress one. Does anyone know of a plugin which can do this, or even the function which sets the usermeta?
