Add Banner to Iconic One

Hello All!!,
So I am almost done designing this WordPress website, but I have been (frustratingly) trying to add a image banner to the header. Basically I want an image between the Page nav bar and the content, but to only have this show up on the homepage. Does anyone have any ideas how I can do this? as you can see from the code remnants I have tried many different ways but nothing is working..
