I have successfully made the porftolio the homepage but now the blog is missing from the site. I don’t know how to add it back into the menu as it appears in the demo. Please help.

Hi, you did not give a link to your site, but in general, check to make sure that the page you want as your posts page is published. At Settings > Reading make sure that your Posts page is set and then make sure your Posts page is also published.

Next, if you have not, create a custom menu and add all the pages/items that you wish to have in your menu are added to it. You can do this from Customize > Menus, or from the dashboard at Appearance > Menus. Make sure and set your custom menu to the Primary Menu location.

Hello! Thanks so much for your quick reply. I didn’t put the link to the site because it’s private at the moment, while I’m sorting it out. It’s artefacthouse.com

Unfortunately I don’t have a ‘Reading’ section in my settings, only: General | Writing | Discussion | Traffic. There is no place I can see to set up or activate a blog page.

I have tried customising the menu but there is no blog page to add. I can add individual posts but not all entries unless I use the tag ‘Uncategorized’ which then has that as an ugly heading.

I tried making a blog page and using the shortcode [blog] in case that’s how it worked, but it wasn’t.

I just want it to work like the demo with that nice Blog page and there are no instructions for bringing it back in once you’ve made your homepage the portfolio page.

Thanks for the link. I see that your site is hosted at WordPress.com. Since you are hosted there, the best place to ask for help is either in the WordPress.com forums, or through the Live Chat, which is available to you since you have the Personal Plan upgrade. These forums are for those that are self-hosting their own installation of WordPress on a different hosting service.

To get to Reading Settings, go to My Sites > WP Admin and then under settings near the bottom, click Reading. Here is a direct link to get you there faster: https://artefacthouse.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php.

You will need to create and publish a blog page and then set that as your Posts page. See our support document for more on setting all that up.

By the way, I am now seeing your blog page in your menu and it takes me to the page with your posts.
