Add by URL missing from menu and posts

A while back I posted Add Tweet by URL missing from admin menu?
“Add tweet by URL” is disabled in the admin menu as well as in posts when I uncheck the second advanced setting in WordPress via Settings > Social. In Dutch this checkbox is called “Social’s doorsturen van berichten uitschakelen.” which translates to something like “Disable Social’s forwarding of messages.”
What does this setting do? As I don’t use Social to broadcast anything at the moment and the name seems to imply sending something I disabled the feature. But that shouldn’t intervene with adding a tweet by URL, right?
