Add category descriptions to Woocommerce shop page

I’ve tried to research this and haven’t found a solution.

I want to add category descriptions to the Shop page of Woocommerce. Currently, the Shop page only displays the Category title.

I did see this support page solution: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/how-to-add-product-description-to-category-or-shop-page
but it references changing the content-product.php page, but I don’t have that page in my template files (I’m using Twenty Eleven).

Not sure what I’m doing wrong here. Any help is greatly appreciated.
