Add category to URL

I think what do you’d need to do is use a conditional statement in your .htaccess file to not remove the category slug when the page request includes /events/.

That’s assuming you’re using the default structure.

My htaccess knowledge isn’t that good, i would i put this in?

Currently I maintain category name/slug in url, just not the part that says /category/

I think maybe I misunderstood what you wanted to do. What is it you’re trying to remove, just the categories part? If so, you can change that by going to Events > Settings > Pages > Permalink Slugs.
