Add comment box to static home page

I am using the blog on the static home page (Matheson theme), however the “leave a comment” box was not on the home page. It was on the other pages. How can I enable the comment box on the static home page? When I am in “posts” and I click “view” under the post name, when the viewed page appears I can then see the comment box…so is there but unavailable for me to see? Thanks for your help.
