Add comment link and counter to posts on homepage

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to add a link to leave a comment in posts that appear in the homepage? I would like for the reader to have the option to leave a comment without having to click to open the post, as well I would like to include a comment counter with the link. I do not use a child theme and was hoping for a plugin or CSS option to do this.
