Add comments option to standard web pages
-
Hi all
Apologies if this is solved elsewhere, but I’ve not been able to find the right post if it has.
I have a regular HTML-based website which I maintain on a regular basis and I’ve recently added WP 2.5.1 to that site to manage a regular diary/blog that I now keep. I like the fact that people can add comments to my diary postings, and I would like to extend this facility to pages I have written in the main part of the website.
So for example, when I add a new page to the site (not the WP diary) I would like to add a “You can comment on this page” link at the bottom of the page. Ideally the comments would appear on the page, but I think this would be tricky unless I switched to PHP for my website, which I’m not about to do just yet. So the other alternative would be for the link to take the reader to a WP comments page.
How can I create this comments page, without having a diary entry? I don’t want the diary/blog clogged up with empty entries that relate to the static pages on my website.
Just read that all back and it seems to make sense (to me at least).
Hope someone can help.
Many thanks
