• I recently installed Hoffman on one of my blogs. I like it a lot. (To Anders: thanks for developing it!) I’ve made a child theme version and I’ve done some light customisation to that. One thing I really would like is to have the primary nav menu display beneath the site title and be always visible.

I can’t figure out how to do this. One thing I have done via CSS Hero is to make the current pop-out menu hidden, so right now no menu shows at the top.

Can any one offer some tips on this? Thanks.

Well, I advanced a little with a solution, following this pretty helpful guide: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-add-custom-navigation-menus-in-wordpress-3-0-themes/. I’ve created a new nav menu, coded with a WP Code snippet, added CSS for styling.

And while the PHP code I’ve added to child header.php works, the end result isn’t working yet. What I get is the code as plain text appearing to the right of the site title image. At least nothing throws up any PHP or other errors. I expect I’m missing an element somewhere.

    I’ll persevere!
