Add content above calendar

Hello there,

Is it possible to add content above the calendar on a page that has been designated as the events page? I have tried to insert an instance of Revolution Slider, and other types of content in case it was the slider, and none of them appear – can I insert the slider shortcode into the page using an action? Ideally, it would go above the calendar and beneath the title.
