Add CPT to Front Page Panel

  • I create a cpt ‘portfolio’ as well as an ‘archive.portfolio.php’ & ‘single.portfolio.php’ file in a child theme of the twentyseventeen theme.

    I created a blank ‘Portfolio’ page and inserted in the menu and it shows all the ‘portfolio’ items ( 3 total ).

    However when I add this page to the Customniser, and add it to the front page panel it displays nothing as you can see at the bottom of the front page.

    Do I need to create a template and query for ‘portfolio’?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • You need to add custom code to file /template-parts/page/content-front-page-panels.php

    Thanks you, after looking at that page and ‘content-front-page.php, I thought that was the page that needed to be modified.

    Do I even need a CPT or could I just create a post category?
