I am using your Optima Express WordPress plugin on a client site and about to add it to another client’s site. They each want to make some customizations to the layout of the listing details pages. I see that some of your rows have ids, but most do not. Do you have any plans to add ids to the individual rows in the future? It would allow for much simpler customization options for developers using CSS and seems like an easy fix.

    Hello,

Optima Express is generally intended to be used out-of-the-box. While some customizations can be made with CSS and JavaScript, this would typically be for minor styling tweaks. Please keep in mind that the details pages are designed to follow the board’s IDX display policies, so you’ll want to make sure that any changes are in compliance with the boards display rules.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the IDs. I’ll pass this on to our product team, as they’re always looking for ways to improve the product.

Please feel free to email us at [email protected] if you need further assistance or if you would like to further discuss what you are looking to accomplish with the details pages.

Ok, thanks for the reply. We have seen many other real estate building sites and plugins that showcase the listings in different ways. They all claim to be compliant with the MLS guidelines as well. We’ll keep an eye out to see if you guys add the IDs in a future update.

    Hello,

If you would like to email us at [email protected], and describe what you are looking to accomplish, we would be happy to try and provide additional advice.

    Have a great day!

Just adding my two-cents worth… I’d love to see more IDs used in the CSS. Right now the HTML/CSS is a mess, and is frustrating at best to work with.

Also, a lot of the CSS is hard-coded inline in the HTML, which is just a rookie mistake and simply shouldn’t be done.

I understand that you need to be compliant with hundreds of MLS boards, but why don’t you make it easier for us to customize the layouts and let us worry about whether we are compliant or not. You’re support department (which is great by the way!) is already advising people to use Javascript and CSS hacks to do this, so why not just take the extra step to rework your CSS and make it a truly 5-star plugin.

    Hello,

Thank your your feedback regarding the Classes and IDs for the IDX content.

Our engineers do try to keep CSS customizations in mind when considering classes and IDs for new features and updates.

Please note, however, that Optima Express is generally intended to be used out-of-the-box, and while some customizations can be made with CSS and JavaScript, this is generally considered to be for minor styling tweaks.

We’re happy to have your feedback regarding classes and IDs, and if there is a particular element or feature that you would like to point out, please feel free to email [email protected], and we would be happy to pass your feedback along to our engineers, and/or provide any advise that we may have.
