Add custom div, list elements outside the image link, caption, and media file

  • Hi! I want to make a photography portfolio website, which is using Flexslider in the gallery. Flexslider requires special link structure in the slideshows, that’s why I need to put the images in unordered list. I want to make more “automatic” the linking process with image linking mechanism change and the “Post Editor Buttons Fork” plugin.

    I’m not a PHP programmer at all. I found a solution on the net how to add “li” element outside the img tag in every image link, by functions.php:

    But when I paste the images in the post with media links, or captions, the “li” is inside the href or caption tags. For me the urgent part is the caption.

    This is strongly a PHP problem that requires deep wordpress knowledge. I’m absolutely don’t know anything about PHP. ?? Please someone can help me?
