Actually, the [give_register] shortcode already includes a username field that the user needs to fill in order to register to the website.

I got it. For now, there isn’t a way to add a custom field to the regular registration form.

I was thinking about adding this new value to the existing table of give_users, using the regular plugin activation function of my custom plugin. Would this be a bad practice with WordPress?
