Add Customer Name to New Order subject line

You’ll need some custom code for this.

I was hoping for an easier way without having to use a function but the below worked for me (based on https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/change-email-subject-lines/), I rejigged it slightly.

// Change Woo Commerce New Order Email for Admin to Display Customer Name
add_filter('woocommerce_email_subject_new_order', 'change_admin_email_subject', 1, 2);

function change_admin_email_subject( $subject, $order ) {
	global $woocommerce;

	$blogname = wp_specialchars_decode(get_option('blogname'), ENT_QUOTES);

	$subject = sprintf( 'New Order (%s) from %s %s', $order->id, $order->billing_first_name, $order->billing_last_name );

	return $subject;
}

You can edit the customer’s subject line in Woo directly

> WP-admin
> WooCommerce
> Settings
> Emails

Or update this URL with your doamin and paste in your browser
https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-settings&tab=email

On the settings you cannot add the First and Last name, I think there’s no TAGS for that.

Basically is what you requested “Dear [{customer_name}]”

I didnt update a customers email, only the email sent to the admin.

Something similar to the code above would work, you’d need to edit the email template file (or create a new email template) directly in: wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/emails/ or override the email template by creating a filter in your child theme’s functions.php file.

I’d recommend the later because any updates to woo commerce after you edit the core files would probably overwrite your code. It’s best to keep it separate.

Unfortunately I don’t have any more advice for you ??

Hello, I am having some issue on my website. I have a restaurant online ordering website with different branches. I want to get email with a subject of restaurant Id from which order is placed. Just like “Code : Restaurant Branch ID”. I have been trying so hard to get that but couldn’t. Admin email should be like this. It will help me in filtering each restaurant. Thanking in advance.
