Add Daily Quotes As A Widget?

  • Hello,

    how do I add daily quotes as a general widget to pages and posts? Is it possible to have one quote that always shows up “first” for any new website visitor?

    Hello,

    In the widget area of WordPress you should find the Daily Quotes widget. It is up to you where you desire to add it. Many place it in the sidebar, but again up to you.

    As for the “first” comment I do not follow. If you mean have a quote section appear above others that is possible. There is an ordered/sort function to arrange sections before or after others.

    If you desire a visitor see say Quote 12 on their first visit that is not possible. The daily content is based on the current date not visit count.

    got it, thanks! I did not quite get from the interface if it is possible to just enter, say, enter 10 quotes, and let them rotate on random.

    Ah yes. Some have requested random display. It is on my list to do but so far it is just day-by-day.
