Add Dashboard Menu for Subscribers

  • Need all subscribed users can keep a ‘file vault’ of themselves and Admin be able to sort through all uploaded files, user by user.

    I just installed this plugin, I can see the ‘File Manager’ item on my left side dashboard menu for Admin users but I want it to be available to ‘subscriber’ level users as well.
    How would I get the File manager to show on Dashboard menu for Subscribers or other levels of users ?

    Unfortunately, that’s not possible with this plugin, at least not in the free version. You can use it to hide menu items, but it doesn’t have the ability to give a role access to a menu item that it normally can’t access.

    What you might be able to do is find the capability that is required to access “File Manager” and then give that capability to the “Subscriber” role using another plugin. The menu editor shows the required capability under menu properties. There are many free role editor plugins (e.g. User Role Editor) that you could use to enable that capability for the role.

    Note that some capabilities allow access to more than one feature or menu item. Depending on how the file manager works, you may need to be careful not to give Subscribers too much access.
