Hello, I am facing this surprisingly bad UX with WooCommerce and variable products acting in catalog.

Is there any way instead “Select Option” button with variable product in the products catalog get “Add to cart” that just add to cart default value of variable product?

    Hello @aidasgv,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I think it would be better if you just convert all variable products with something like Variations as Single Products extension. :?)

I suggest you give it a try (we don’t offer trials but we have?a 30 day refund policy). If this extension turns out to be not what you were looking for,?please reach out to us via email?and we’ll be more than happy to help find alternatives.

If you’re keen on keeping them as variable products, you can alter the add-to-cart button behaviour on archive pages using the woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item hook.

You can find a visual representation of archive page hooks at https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-visual-hook-guide-archiveshopcat-page/.

If you need help from a developer to create a customized solution, consider hiring a WooExpert.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
