• Hi,

I’m using the theme colorway, but I’ve modifified it to have a quote (inside of header.php) I need the quote to change for each page. Right now, it’s showing the same quote for every page. How can I edit the header to show a different quote per page? Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Thank you!!

  • What I would do if I were you, is create a custom post type to store your quotes.
Once that’s done, you can add your different quotes and then pull one at random and display them on your header.

If you want a specific quote per page, then perhaps you could try using a custom field.

Sorry to found like a complete n00b, but how would I go about doing this? And, does the fact that I am using Pages and not Posts change anything? I do need a specific quote per page. Thanks!

Ah, if you’re new then perhaps a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/quotes-collection/
    would be easier.

I don’t think that using pages vs posts matters. The same file is used for the header on all pages/posts.

Well the problem is, it needs to be in the top of each page so I can have it fade in and out on mouseover. I think that the plugin will just put it into the page and not the theme/template

    What do you think?
