Add Events to the loop

I’m using WP 3.3.1 and Events Manager 5.1.6. I’m trying to get Events to appear in the loop with other blog posts. I’ve searched and found nothing, and the plugin developer points people here.

Has anyone been able to get events in the loop without just posts with shortcodes? I’d like for WP to treat Event post types the same as Posts (as far as the main page goes) and just automatically show them like blog entries. Thanks.
