Add Excerpts to Pages

    Adding and excerpt only applies to posts, how can I add this to my page?

    Looking for one of these options:
    A plugin (the ones I found are over 2 years old)
    A tab to check out (read some themes have this option)
    Adding a code to my function.php. (I have a child theme only for style.css. Someone created it for me, so I know how to add to that part of the them. Not sure how to create a new folder for the functions.php.)

  • Take a look at xili Post in Post. The plugin will allow you to display an excerpt or a full post in a page. I’ve used it before, very powerful with lots of options (although understanding all of the different options can be a bit overwhelming).

    I figured it out! you select from the drop down menu at the top ‘screen options’.
