Add fee manually to order without tax

    Hi there,

    We have a webshop where the client creates orders manually in the dashboard. Depending on the products some fees are automatically added to the order, some with and some without taxes.

    However in some cases the client wants to add another fee manually, and uses the ‘Add fee’ button in the order items table. In this case, the tax is automatically applied, and there doesn’t seem to be an option to exclude this fee from taxes.

    I found this article: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/tax-added-to-manual-orders-with-only-a-fee/ but the suggested solution doesn’t seem to work and I can’t find anything about it in the documentation. I tried adding a zero rate taxclass:

    And then added the name to the fee as stated in the article, but after recalculating the tax is still there:

    Am I missing something here? Is there another solution to add a fee without taxes?

    This suggestion is not correct, I1m sorry about that ??

    Currently, by default, the fee will add the appropriate tax according to how you set up taxes. So it will use the tax set up for the customer’s address.

    We have a website where you can submit feature requests and upvote the ones other people submitted and you like. You can add the option to have a non-taxable fee as a request. You can check that out here.

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting back. Bummer to hear there is no solution for this yet. I submitted a feature request as I think this would be a very handy feature.

    I think we’ll build our own functionality in the meantime.

    If you want you can achieve this feature by using a custom-coded solution.
    For this, you will need to contact a Woo developer and explain your requirements.
    You can find a good developer at WooExperts and Codeable.
